How long have you been performing in porn as the Rafael Alencar we’ve all come to know and enjoy onscreen?
Since the year 2000, I believe. That year I did my first movie in Guatemala, one in Germany, one in California, and one in Brazil. They were all for different studios. I remember they were still released on VHS.
Given the amount of time that’s passed since bareback porn has become popular and common in the industry, what made you decide to perform bareback at this point?
PrEP is the main reason. I’ve been taking Truvada for three years now, and it definitely gave me more confidence. Even though most of us bareback once in a while in our private lives, I was not ready to do it publicly at all. I’m HIV negative and I’d like to remain that way. I know I could be exposed to other diseases, but aren’t we all open to that risk one way or another when having sex non-monogamously?
I actually have way better sex today than when I used to be without PrEP. There’s no paranoia, no regret, and more pleasure—especially if you are with the one you want to be—even if it’s just for that night.
What made you decide to perform bareback for Lucas Entertainment?
My whole life I’ve filmed “safe sex” gay porn movies. But I also watched bareback videos too—I guess we all did and do.
But I didn’t, and don’t, need exposure, so I held off on filming bareback sex scenes until it felt right.
Because of that, I probably won’t film many bareback scenes, but the ones I do film will be extreme hot. How was your experience on set performing bareback for the first time?
I can’t say I wasn’t nervous, because I was. I’ve known Michael Lucas for years, and Michael was very patient with me as he directed the scene. He pulled me aside to talk to and make me feel more comfortable.
That’s when I realized I filmed porn my entire adult life; I was fucking for my pleasure and the pleasure of others my entire adult life. And the porn set was exactly the place I wanted to be. I was there and eager to fuck my scene partner, Dakota Payne, and give my best performance.
