LUCAS ENTERTAINMENT LAUNCHES ANTI-PIRACY CAMPAIGN; FILES COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT LAWSUIT
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
July 21, 2010 (New York, NY) – Lucas Entertainment is proud to announce the launch of its new anti-piracy campaign, commencing with the filing of a lawsuit in U.S. Federal Court. The suit, brought in Texas Northern District Court on July 19, 2010, targets 65 defendants, the largest number of defendants for a single anti-piracy case amongst gay adult studios. The company is seeking monetary damages for illegal downloads of its recent release Missing.
“You only have to conduct a quick Google search to see the rampant piracy all over the internet,” commented Lucas Entertainment President/CEO Michael Lucas. “I am always surprised that users would deal with torrent sites and all the hassle that requires instead of streaming through LucasEntertainment.com, but I guess there are many people out there who have endless patience. We appreciate our fans wherever they are but business is business and we have to make some money off our content.”
“While many sites are responsive and take down content once notified of a copyright violation, some are not and we have decided to take a more forceful approach with the more difficult sites and their users,” added Lucas. “Too many people assume the Internet provides them with unlimited access to our content at no cost. Instead, it gives us exactly the tools and information we need for lawsuits like this one. I will be ruthless with those who are stealing my films.”
This marks Lucas Entertainment’s first legal action against Internet piracy, and follows a similar model used by major Hollywood production companies. Instead of filing numerous lawsuits against several defendants, the company is able to efficiently litigate against potentially hundreds or even thousands of individuals who have stolen their content.

Good luck on your lawsuit. This piracy has to stop and I’m happy to see you in the forefront fighting it.
absolutely, it has to stop, it is indeed killing the business. Rent it and copy it that’s what’s happening all over Europe.
Now the dvd’s from the lucas stable aren’t over-priced at all, so I can’t be bothered by renting and time consuming copying but the industry (and the regular film bizz) is losing millions over it to say the least
dear, lucas…in thailand ,we have your dvd.copy, all over! i think it not good for you!
how about buying a scene to download.with a free membership.with a upgrade to pay membership,if they with it.
