This has been a week full of new features on LucasBlog! So far we have the weekly column of Jonathan Agassi Tuesdays, on Wednesdays we have a rotating panel of guest posters and now our final new feature is Avi Dar Thursdays!

Hey guys,

This is Avi Dar, first I want to say that I’m very thankful for all my friends and fans. I honestly mean it when I say I love you all very much. I do my best for you and I’m glad you are taking this new journey with me.

I grew up on a small farming Kibbutz in Israel and when I was 20 I moved to Tel Aviv. As many of you know that is when I made the movie Men of Israel and my life changed completely. I moved to NYC from Tel Aviv on July 29th. It was torture flying in because I was so excited to see the city but as soon as we landed the captain announced that we had no gate to arrive at and we ended up waiting 3 painful hours in anticipation! Nate, another member of the Lucas family, met me at the airport and we took the train to Penn Station. I have to say when I opened the doors and walked on to the streets of New York I was in shock! Completely stunned at how BIG everything is! I had never imagined anything like this and I loved it! Bigger is better☺

New York is such an amazing place, there are different people from all over the world, all very open minded and there is always something exciting to do. My first weekend I went out to Fire Island with Michael Lucas and his house was really beautiful. But I was so confused on how everyone there recognized me. Then I realized I was on the cover of NEXT magazine that week and it was on the doorstep of all the houses on the island. It was nice stopping and talking to everyone, it was a great welcome!

Little did I know that one month later we would be filming my movie Obsession at the Fire Island house and Michael would “kill” me as I was tied into a wheelchair! But I’ll get him back for that one day☺

Now I am settling into my life in the city. I took an English course last fall and loved to share my porn stories with my wide-eyed classmates and teachers! I also, love to go to the movies and even though I don’t understand everything, I still laugh along for fun haha! I have also been extremely busy with photo shoots and interviews for magazines and websites and in my seldom spare time I love to go shopping and visit New York’s great museums. My favorite part of the city is Soho, it reminds me a lot of Shenkin street in Tel Aviv where everyone is sitting down, having a coffee and just relaxing with each other.

I’ve also taken this opportunity to explore other areas of the US. I have been to Miami three times and once to LA. I really love them both. I need that warmth and the water. My sign is Cancer so I love being at the beach!
